Managing security settings
KACE Cloud allows you to control and block unauthorized access to your managed devices. The Security Library includes several types of configurations that you can use to manage different aspects of your environment, such as configuring firewall settings, enabling disk encryption, optimizing data traffic on target devices, and applying operating system updates. For example, you can allow or block certain apps from accessing the network through the firewall.
There are several types of security settings that you can use to manage network traffic:
- Antivirus settings allow you to apply varioud types of Windows Defender settings to devices. For example, you can create Defender configurations to scan specific types of files, indicate how threats are handled, and create scheduled scans. You can then apply these configurations to individual Windows devices, or associate them with policies, as required.
- Disk encryption settings prevent data from being exposed to unauthorized users. Using this feature KACE Cloud administrators can easily data encryption for entire volumes using BitLocker for Windows disk encryption or FileVault for macOS.
- Firewall settings can be used to control the operation of the macOS and Windows Defender Firewall. You can apply only one Firewall configuration to a managed device at a time.
- System updates ensure your managed Windows, macOS, and supervised iOS devices are protected and running smoothly. Each configuration can include various settings that control many aspects of updates on managed devices. For example, you can choose whether a Windows Feature Update can be rolled back or not, defer updates, or allow users to install preview releases, if applicable.
